David Parker-Willetts, Helping You Home Manager

Before I started working for Involve, I was a full-time carer for my husband at the time and had been referred into Involve Carer’s by my GP. This was a real lifeline to me as you really don’t know how difficult caring for someone actually is until you are asked the question “so, how are you doing/what can we do for you”?

As circumstances changed, I wanted to try and get back into work. Looking through Indeed one day, I found a volunteering role which caught my eye. This was for a Volunteer Driver, collecting elderly/disabled and vulnerable people from their homes and driving them to various medical and or social appointments.

This then lead on to me applying for a full-time job as a Coordinator and climbing the ladder internally. I was overwhelmed by what the charity did for the community and I just wanted to be a part of it!

I am now the Helping You Home, Hospital Discharge Service Manager.

My Job is highly rewarding as I get to see and hear about the practical ways in which the service makes a difference to the clients and patients that we work with.

Not one day is the same and it is just wonderful to work for an organisation like Involve and be part of an organisation that promotes a work/life balance and is interested in the wellbeing of its colleagues and staff.

If you are looking for a change of career, wanting to expand your knowledge, work hard and be in a job that is rewarding yet challenging, Involve is the place for you.
