If you have a passion for improving the health and wellbeing of others, this is a really exciting opportunity to work directly with GPs and other health professionals to engage and support patients to take part in community activities, motivating and building confidence to improve their wellbeing. We are seeking energetic, compassionate people with a track record in engaging and motivating people to make a change in their lives. You’ll be given training, including ‘motivational interviewing’ and supported to work with people referred by GPs and health staff who are socially isolated, lacking confidence, facing multiple challenges in life such as debt or bereavement and help them access community-based activities such as exercise groups, advice services, befriending and self-help groups. You’ll also be recruiting and managing a team of volunteers to support, so you’ll need to be real people person, well organised, resilient with a positive attitude and happy to work in the community. IT skills are important, as the service uses an innovative digital solution to track referrals, hold and share information.
