Our West Kent Listens project is part of the Kent and Medway listens campaign to gather the opinions and voices from people all over West Kent.  We want to hear how you are feeling and what your experience of the recent pandemic and related restrictions was like. We also want to gather any suggestions or thoughts on how services can be improved and what more could be offered to help mental wellbeing in West Kent. We’d especially like to hear from you if you haven’t previously taken part in public consultation before. If you’d like some support in speaking up, please let us know how we can help you.

We are working in partnership with Kent County Council on this project to improve and develop mental health services across Kent. Therefore, we are asking members of the public to share their experiences and stories with us to shape decisions going forward that accurately reflect the needs of our communities.

Our project will:

  1. Make recommendations for future action on mental health services based on real life experiences and the needs of the diverse and seldom heard communities across Kent and Medway.

  2. Work with communities to co-create solutions and empower groups to become leaders in their own right.

To get your voice heard, please get in touch with us via outreachteam@involvekent.org.uk to arrange a one-to-one interview, either face-to-face or via telephone so that we can get in contact with you. We are also able to come and visit you or your group locally.

Additionally, we have a quick and easy online survey that can be filled out to share your views and tell us what matters to your community. Click here to take the survey.

Please feel free to share this link with friends, family or other members of your community!

Additionally,

If you are based in West Kent and planning events for the community, you can apply for a community grant!

Involve Kent are offering funding for local community projects that help residents to live happier, healthier lives.

Are you running a small singing group and require more funds to hire venues? Do you have an idea to run allotment programmes to entice people to go outside and learn new skills?

No matter the project, if you run programmes that enhances people’s wellbeing- it’s time to get involved!

Fill in your application form by 28th January to receive funding
