OUR TRUSTEES

CHAIR

STEPHEN O'CONNELL

Stephen is Deputy Director HM Prison service, he has worked in the Prison Service for almost 30 years and was elected President of the Prison Governors Association in September 2014. Stephen is the Chair of Involve's Board.

VICE CHAIR

RICHARD LEICESTER

Richard is the Vice Chair of the Board and a Human Resources Leader by profession. In his day job Richard is a Director of Human Resources and has responsibility for the executive leadership of strategic HR and learning across two large organisations covering a workforce of over 12,000 individuals. Richard is a Chartered Fellow of the Institute of Personnel and Development and has been part of our board since 2011. 

TRUSTEES

ANDY FAIRHURST

Andy is a commissioning and project manager in the NHS, having previously worked in health within Local Government. Andy is a Parish Councillor and holds an Honorary Research Fellowship at the Centre for Health Services Studies at the University of Kent.

BEN HUDSON

Ben has a background, and qualifications in Psychology and Climate Change Management. He has worked on various Environment and Regeneration Projects in London, where he was able to utilise his passion for waste and recycling. Ben has also gained experience charitable and public sectors through range of environmental focused jobs.

JOHN BENNETT

John has had a career of two halves, firstly service provision and strategic planning in the public sector, namely local government and industrial training; secondly in the voluntary sector as Director of Finance in two social research Institutes then latterly as Chief Executive for Kent Wildlife Trust, a self-funding membership Charity with over 30,000 members and supported by over 1,000 active volunteers who contribute to the work of the Trust in many ways. John is a Chartered Secretary.(FCIS).

JOHN LUCKHURST

John Luckhurst is a former mental health nurse, prison governor and now barrister and solicitor. John used to work with Involve’s V-Team and Your Voice (formerly known as Platform) and has been a Trustee since 2011.

JOHN RUSSELL

Having joined as a Trustee in 2013, John brings his experience, particularly from having been a volunteer and helping run voluntary groups as well as some of his professional experience, in helping guide the organisation through the current challenging and changing times.

MARGARET ROSE

Margaret has been a volunteer for Involve for over ten years and on the Trustee Board for six. Margaret’s main interest as a member of the Board is the activities of volunteers and has been a volunteer in support of various organisations for over 30 years.

RICHARD ASH

Richard has been a Parish Councillor since 1991, Borough Councillor since 1992 and was the Mayor of Maidstone in 2007/08 and brings extensive experience in Governance, community relations, chairmanship and leadership to Involve.

ROSALINE DEAN

Rosaline is a volunteer for Involve's Older People services. As part of her role as an Involve Trustee, she places an emphasis on representing older people and volunteers.

DUNCAN SIMMONS

Duncan is currently Area Director for Metro Bank, having been in banking since leaving school. His role involves strategic leadership and hands-on support to over 100 colleagues around Kent. Duncan served as a school Governor for over 14 years and has supported a number of charities as a volunteer or Treasurer during his career.

VIVIANE WILLIAMS

Viviane has a background in Design Branding & Marketing, with a master’s degree in Creative Cultural Entrepreneurship. Using these skills, she has worked for companies such as ‘The Walt Disney Company’, and ’02 Telefonica.

Viviane is the founder of the social enterprise WAKEUP CAMPAIGN, communications think tank that leverages the power of the arts, culture and creativity to serve communities for change, growth and transformation working on placemaking initiatives within local communities.
