What we do

The Macmillan Crossroads Volunteer Service supports people living with cancer and their carers across Kent and Medway. Our primary volunteer offer is companionship; a listening ear at a time when someone navigating cancer may be lonely or struggling to cope with their diagnosis. This companionship may include light housework, short external trips, wellbeing activities and / or gardening where available.
We also offer volunteer transport support where possible – providing transport for a person or couple from their home to healthcare appointments including but not limited to Chemotherapy / Radiology sessions and GP appointments.
In addition, our expert team provide information and guidance and signposting to other services, as well as support in grant applications to help with the financial impacts of a cancer diagnosis.
Volunteers are fully trained and have been DBS checked
