What we do

A small riding establishment was originally setup in the mid 70’s as part of Leybourne Grange Hospital. When the hospital withdrew from the site in late 1992 the Councillor at that time Roy Barnes who became chairman and director of the board and former solicitor Janet Bowen formed a limited company – Leybourne Grange Riding Centre for the Disabled thus enabling the riding centre to continue to provide recreational and therapeutic riding sessions. LGRCD has now expanded to include additional stabling, together with stable rentals and has significantly increased the number of lessons we now provide to enable disabled riders to continue with the benefits, enjoyment and freedom of riding a horse which is suited to their needs. We are primarily for disabled riders but run an equal amount of able bodied lessons to help subsidise the riding for disabled with lesson fees.
